WASP 2025
Penelope is a hybrid robotic printing and milling end-effector.
By integrating a retractable milling motor on to the existing waspXXL extruder, this end-effector aims to increase production detailing opportunities, and remove operational downtime between endeffector changeover.
So far the end-effector has been on display at Formnext 2026 and received some good media attention amongst the AM and robotic fabrication community.
The project and R&D case study is set to finish in the first quarter of 2026 – So here are some snapshots of the journey so far.
